ARCHITECTURE HISTORY AND THEORY
1. Analysis Report
A group of 7 students completed this project. One of our tasks was to research a special building within Malaysia and create a booklet containing a detailed architectural analysis. The second task was to create an A1 size poster for the same building and also to create a augmented reality infographic to present to our tutors.
The building my group worked on was the The National Monument.
2. Sketching Analysis
In this project we were individually assigned to make a small booklet with sketches of buildings from 5 different time periods and to make an analysis of those buildings. The aim of this project was to educate us on what to include in a analysis and also to educate us more about the history and architecture.
3. Tutorial Tasks
The tutorial tasks allowed me to remember the distinct features of the structures we learned during the respective tutorial sessions as we were tasked to sketch different components of different buildings.
4. Overall Reflection
This module has been very informative and very interesting. I've learned a lot about our history as well as the different and unique types of architectural designs that were used during different time periods. The lectures were very informative and very fun to listen, it was easy to take notes and grasp the information. My overall learning experience was very good.
The projects given in this module were very helpful as they made me understand the necessary details required in an architectural analysis and allowed me to apply it in my work.
The main learning platforms i used were MyTimes, Facebook and Telegram. MyTimes allows access for me to go through my lecture slides and provide me information about my modules and allows me to submit all my works on one platform. The main platforms used for announcements and other important notices were Telegram and Facebook. Both these platforms allowed smooth communication between the student and the tutors.
Our module coordinator Dr. Filzani Illia Ibrahim made sure everyone got informed about our classes and other important announcements every week and organizes the lectures very efficiently. Our lecturers Bashira Mohd Bahar, Liang Lok Mei, Mr.Azim Sulaiman and Mr.Shawn Syazwan created a fun and exciting atmosphere when carrying out lectures which made lectures very engaging and fun.
